Sandro Kaulartz spent eighteen years building the social intelligence practice at Ipsos, and now leads product innovation at Conveo.
Sandro trained as a market researcher and started out at online full-service agencies. He joined Ipsos in 2008, just as passive metering and user-generated data were opening up, and was given room to build new capabilities and analytic frameworks for that field inside the company. A few enthusiasts became Ipsos’s Social Intelligence Analytics practice, with more than three hundred experts worldwide. He was its Chief Research Officer, then Chief Innovation and Product Development Officer across Ipsos SIA and Synthesio, its social intelligence platform.
Beyond client work, the project he looks back on most fondly came out of MIT. With Eric von Hippel he developed a machine-learning method for finding early-stage user innovations in online conversations, published in Research Policy in 2021. A year later the Social Intelligence Lab named him one of the 50 most influential people in social analytics.
He joined Conveo in the summer of 2026 and works from Geneva. His focus is agentic workflows, what the team calls the operating system: a continuous layer that detects what is changing for a client and turns it into something they can act on straight away.
It answers a problem he has described for years. Companies have no shortage of consumer data, he has said, but they want more revelations and fewer observations. AI and models will shape the industry, in his view, but what drew him to Conveo is that human truth and real conversations with consumers sit at its centre, which he calls the antidote to AI slop.

Stoked to join Conveo. I'm a market researcher with 25 years of experience. In my past 18 years, I worked as chief innovation officer for Ipsos and Synthesio, their digital business, and I'm super stoked to be here with an incredible team and incredible talent to help shape the future of Conveo.
Agentic workflows, something that we call the operating system. A continuous agentic design that would detect things and turn it into instant actionability for our clients. Really a strategic layer on top of this platform.
I think the industry, and I've been around for a while, is at a really pivotal moment in time right now. AI and models will obviously define the future, but the special thing about Conveo is that at the very heart of it is human truth and deep connections with consumers. I do feel it's the antidote to some of the AI slop that we're seeing. Conveo is a platform that runs on AI back and forth, but in the center is the human truth and customer centricity.
